Allocating Lead or Featured Articles help

Site Administrators may allocate Lead or Featured Articles to sections of the web site.

Featured Articles

These appear in the right hand column and display: title, summary and summary image where this exists. Several Featured articles can be assigned to a section but care must be taken to avoid creating too long a right hand column as a consequence.

Note that Featured Articles may be RSS feeds from other websites by adding as the Document reference :

Site_RSS:{add here the URL of the feed}

Lead Article

Each classification or combination of classifications can have only one Lead Article and this appears in full at the top of all other entries when that section is chosen. When assigning a Lead Article, ensure that the appropriate classification(s) are selected. Lead Articles are followed by all other articles relevant to the chosen classifications in descending order of their popularity. Note that removing an article for the Lead Article list simply removes its Lead Article status and does not delete the article.

What is RSS?

The new NAAIDT web site provides RSS feeds for all 'content' sections of the site.

To view the RSS feeds, click on the RSS logo at the bottom right of any page providing a feed. The RSS feed generated is related to the section of the site. So the RSS feed from the About NAAIDT section, for example, will provide a list of new articles classified as being related to About NAAIDT.
