The registration and first day of the conference will be held at the
York Marriott Hotel , it overlooks the racecourse and is a short drive from the city walls. It is easily accessed by car or within a short taxi ride from the railway station. Leisure facilities include an indoor swimming pool, sauna, whirlpool, air conditioned gym and a beauty spa. All rooms are en suite and WI-FI access is available.
The conference will be opened by Dave Rowley the Education Director of the
BLOODHOUND SCC Engineering Adventure .
Early Thursday evening there will be a tour of the
National Railway Museum (NRM) followed by an atmospheric dinner in the Station Hall where we will dine amidst luxurious carriages and historic locomotives set against a back drop of a period station .
We are holding the Friday programme at the
National STEM Centre. This provides a fitting backdrop to the theme of the conference. At the heart of the centre is a purpose built resource centre, housing an extensive collection of support materials. The collections range across science, design and technology, engineering and mathematics for the 5-19 age group.
Late afternoon we will return to the hotel for our Annual Conference Dinner which will take a Yorkshire theme.
The Saturday programme will be based in the hotel.
We hope you will be able to join us in York during April
