NAAIDT merger with The Design and Technology Association

image
Dear Colleagues
I hope you are all aware that over the last 2 years The National Association of Advisers and Inspectors in Design and Technology (NAAIDT) and The Design and Technology Association have been working closely to bring both associations together as one. We have now reached agreement and from the end of the year, December 2013:
• NAAIDT will cease to trade as an Association and Charity
• All members who wish will be transferred to The Design and Technology Association with their membership being supplemented for the first year up to December 31st 2014
• Honorary members will become honorary members of the Design and Technology Association
• Corporate Memberships will transfer as Corporate members of The Design and Technology Association
• All assets will be transferred
• Key NAAIDT historical documents will be archived at The Design and Technology Association
• A new consultancy group, with Sandie Kendall as Chair, will be set up with representation from all areas of consultancy within The Design and Technology Association
• The NAAIDT website will be archived but accessible from www.data.org.uk

Anyone who has any outstanding issues or business with NAAIDT should contact Barry Lewis, Company Secretary naaidt@talktalk.net 07425599428
I would like to personally thank the many who have been involved with these negotiations, Jonathan Gershon as Chair, Bernard Cooper, Richard Green, Andy Mitchell, Hugh Johnson, Sandie Kendall, John Chidgey for the initial fact finding exercise and all members who have been so supportive and patient. NAAIDT has an important past and long legacy which we hope to protect and although it is very sad to bring the association to a close we all feel that we will be able to support the needs of Design and Technology better if both Associations work together as one.
Individual letters regarding membership will be sent out in the next week. We hope that most members will support this move and remain active advisers and consultants within this new regime. A huge thank you must go to everyone who has played an important part in the establishment, development, running and success of NAAIDT both present and in the past.

Best wishes.
Pam Bolton on behalf of all NAAIDT Directors
