Licence to Cook

From September 2008, all secondary age students in England will have an ā€œentitlement to cookā€¯. This was announced by Alan Johnson in 2006 as a part of a package of measures to ā€œembed the school food revolution for the long term and help tackle childhood obesityā€¯.

Primary Curriculum Review

In December Sir Jim Rose's interim report for
the Review of the Primary Curriculum was
published. Disappointingly the seven Areas
of Learning model, which included a
dedicated section for Design and Technology
(as shown by Mick Waters at the Design and
Technology conference in June 2008) had
been replaced by a six Area model.
